Echo Station
The star is collapsing. You have one astronaut, one failing station, and a time loop that resets the moment your chronite runs out.
You don't control your character in real time. You plan a route, queue every move, then hit go and watch it execute. If the door is locked, your astronaut waits. If you guessed wrong about the corridor, you wasted the loop. Reset. Try again.
How it plays
- Build a command queue: move, interact, speak, attack.
- Spend chronite on every action. When it hits zero, the loop ends.
- Familiarity is your progression. The more you repeat an action at a specific tile, the cheaper it gets. Mastery means moving the same path for less.
What persists
Between loops you keep what you learned, not what you carried. Familiarity, discovered tiles, crew logs, codes, training, attunements, and your planned route survive the reset. Inventory, creds, equipment, attributes, HP, and anything you bought or forged do not.
Idle by design
The station autoloops while you are away. Check in, adjust the route, allocate stats at the shrines, push into a new zone, close the tab. Sessions are short. Progress is slow and steady.
Influences
Mechanically: Stuck In Time. Tonally: Outer Wilds. A dying star, a lonely station, and the slow grind of mastery through repetition.
